HPlanner
Quick Guide
HPlanner at a glance

The Dashboard
This is the screen you see after launching HPlanner. From here, you can see at a glance
how your weight changes, or access all the functions and reports.
| "Today" button: opens the weight entry dialog where you enter your daily measurements. (As this is the most often used function, you can use the "Up" button as shortcut). | |
| Shows the history report form. Here you can see list of the daily weight measurements and trends. | |
| Settings: set your preferences and the display range for the weight graph. | |
| Personal data: enter your height here (needed for the BMI calculation). | |
| Today panel: shows your current weight and BMI (Body Mass Index).
The BMI is calculated using your average weight. Tap the value to bring up the BMI chart, and tap the weight value to toggle between the last measurement and the average weight. | |
| Weight graph: how your weight changed during the last weeks. | |
| Graph controls: move forward or back in time and change the way the graph looks. |
Where to start?
- When you start HPlanner for a first time, tap the "Settings" button and enter your preferences there. They include the display units used (metric or english) and the range of values you would like displayed in the weight graph and weight entry dialog.
- Then, tap the "My Data" button and enter your height there. This completes the setup.
Daily
Weigh yourself every day, at the same time of the day (e.g. in the morning, right after you get out of the bed), and enter your weight in HPlanner by tapping the "Today" button. It brings up the Weight dialog (shown on the right). Use the slider or the arrow buttons to adjust the displayed value, or select one of the last measured values.
After you click "OK" your weight will show up immediately in the Today panel and the weight graph.
You can edit your daily measurement later if you like, but it has to be on the same day. Once the day is over, the weight is commited to the history database and can no longer be changed.
The Trend
Your day-to-day weight can vary significantly. This is due to different reasons, like the amount of water you drink or the last time you've been to the restroom; but it makes it hard to identify your true weight. That's why a trend value (weighted moving average of your daily measurements) is calculated. It is displayed in the weight graph, and is used for BMI computation. It is also used as a default value in the daily weight dialog.
The last entered weight is displayed in the today panel. Tapping the value will switch between last measurement and the average weight.
Weight Graph
The weight graph on the dashboard shows your recent weight and trend history. You can scroll it forward and back in time with the arrow buttons, and tapping an item will display the weight values for that date.
The trend value is drawn as a solid line, with the individual measurements shown as dots, or crosses, around it (you can change the display by tapping the gear button on the top right).
BMI Chart
The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a formula for measuring body-weight adjusted for height. It is often used by physicians. You can read more about it here.

The BMI chart is accessed from the menu or by tapping the BMI value displayed in the today panel.
You can use it to check your current or target BMI or as convenient calculator.
Weight History

Your weight history can be shown as a list of chart. It can contain all the stored data or just the measurements during a pre-set time period.
Tapping the weight chart will display the trend value for that date.
